so now it only needs some finishing. You can see my petticoat in the picture, but once I get my knife pleat hem thingies on you won't be able to see them. It'll also look better once I get buttons and button holes onto the bodice. I haven't been practicing my hand sewn button holes, though, so who knows when I'll be able to do that. And I need a bonnet. My mom has suggested dark grey. What do you all think?

I thought wearing it would probably be uncomfortable, but I didn't realize just how uncomfortable it would be. That skirt is heavy. I could feel it just dragging at my waist. And it's really, really warm too. I thought that since the fabric would be so far from my legs it wouldn't be that bad, but no. Now that I think about it I suppose all that air that's trapped under my skirt would be good insulation. Sigh.

So there's really not much left to do. Sweet.

Oh, and when my aunt and I were outside taking the photo this lady walked by and sorta did a double take when she saw me. Then she smiled and laughed and continued on her way. I tend to inspire that reaction quite frequently.

The mood thingie is still not loading. It should read 'accomplished' or 'energetic.'
